WORLD DARTS: BRENDAN DOLAN INTO LAST 16

Irishman Brendan Dolan caused a major shock tonight by beating John Part in the World Darts Championship.

The man from County Fermanagh beat 3 times former World Champion Part from Canada by 3 sets to 1, at the CityWest Hotel in Dublin.

It is a major achievement by the Ulster man, who played some great darts including three 160 openers in this pulsating match.

Roared on by the partisan Irish crowd at the venue, Dolan held his nerve and composure to send his superior opponent(rankings wise) out of the tournament.

Amid cries of "Ole,ole", Brendan Dolan is now through to the quarter-final where he will meet John Henderson from Scotland.
